Education in Cyprus
Cyprus has a high-leveleducation system that conforms to the modern requirements of the European Union. Children go to school between the age of five and five and a half. In the first three years they focus on basic skills. The next three years they learn generalsubjects, humanity subjects, and languages. After that, they may enter vocational schools or professional colleges, where they will gain a profound knowledge of acertain program. There are schools in Cyprus, where students can get education in Russian or English.
In state universities and private colleges, lectures are held in three languages – English, Greek, and Turkish. Asin Russia, higher education consists of three main stages – Bachelor’s programmes, Master’s degree programmes, and Doctoral programmes. Depending on the programme and the course, the duration of study will differ. Universities offer education programmes that are rated the same as in the European Union and other parts of the world.
